I've always loved using photos in my teaching and over the years I have created a big bank of photographs which are classified according to subject and they are easily accessible. I have collected them from magazines, newspapers, advertisements, leaflets and brochures and many are photographs I have taken myself.
I would appreciate it if you had a look at this assignment and commented on it. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1PrLoVAp8QHbcVsG1zTLsaVpAG1eBeRDUKTQ6PazRC2Y/edit?usp=sharing

  1. Nice idea Elena !
Do you give your students a list of linking words ?
Can they work in pairs or groups?

  2. Nabila SOUABER Thank you so much for looking at my work! Yes, students always need to be able to see the linking words because they get carried away by their imagination. The linking words can be found in their coursebooks or can be on display in the classroom - shown on the interactive board or on a poster on the wall. You are also asking if the students can work in pairs or teams. If the teacher's purpose is to use it as a writing activity, I wouldn't recommend it because each student makes different correllations according to their individual personality, background, information input, social perceptions, personal experiences, beliefs, system of values and so many other factors. However, I would use it for teamwork, again with 3 photos for each team, as a speaking activity or as an introductory lesson to the writing one.
