I think that the most important of all is to design material in order to cover the needs of your classroom. Personally I find it very important to promote multiculturalism because I work with students from different socio-cultural and linguistic backgrounds. Also I am an advocate of promoting critical thinking in classroom so my advice would definitely be related with creating material that gives the opportunity to students to become active members in class and in community.

Nice tip, Tzouri! Multiculturalism and critical thinking are topics that really raise my attention. Do you have any suggestions of books or texts about both of them?
ReplyDeleteDanielle Sales A lovely digital tool which could be used in order to promote multilingualism through storytelling in called Storyweaver: https://storyweaver.org.in/
ReplyDeleteVery useful tips, Efi. Multiculturalism and critical thinking need to be promoted in all kinds of classrooms. Also, let me add, that it can be done with young learners, too! Never too early for introducing good practices.
ReplyDeleteMargarita Kosior Thank you so much Margarita! I am really glad that you find my tips useful. And yes I totally agree with you that critical thinking and good practices should start as early as possible!
ReplyDeleteWell said Efi!
ReplyDeleteUseful tips indeed, Efi! We educators should work towards multiculturalism to create a better and more united world. And yes, Margarita Kosior, it should start with young learners! I've been working for years on critical thinking and multiculturalism ideas with children and I should say that the earlier we start, the better. Young children are so open to new aspects and views!
