Hello everyone,
Here's my assignment for week 2. This is a lesson I had created for a lower secondary B1+ class.
Stranger Things was all they were talking about at one point, so I decided to use that to my advantage. I made some changes to make it more suitable for this assignment.
Your feedback would be much appreciated.

Hi Ahlem,
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing your materials. A great, motivating subject for your students and a clear sequence of activities.
It might be an idea to write lesson plans as if they were for another teacher to read (as if for publication) so instead of saying things like ‘The teacher gives the students …’ say ‘Give the students ..’ This will get you into the habit of writing for others – and won’t make any real difference to the LP.
I had a look at the notes and slides but my comments here refer to the worksheet as that is where I think I can offer the best feedback.
Lovely looking materials – the worksheet is attractive and user-friendly. I like how you have numbered the paragraphs so as to help students navigate when it comes to doing the exercises.
Ex 2. Be consistent in this kind of exercise. So if you have a noun, decide whether you are going to include the article in the definition, etc.
Ex 3. This instruction is fine but I think it can probably be simlified a bit and shortened – which is usally a good idea.
Ex 3 (a) If you wnat to bring this in line with the other statements in terms of length, you could cut ‘In this review’.
Ex 4 (missing number?) – lovely personalisiation task which will be motivating.
Ex 5 –I like how you’ve used the answers in Ex 4 as support for the writing task here. I also like how you provide a page for writing on.
I think other participants who teach similar studnets would enjoy using these materials too. Thank you.
Soory, 'students' ... that's my most common typo.
ReplyDeleteKatherine Bilsborough thank you, Katherine. I will adjust the worksheet and plan accordingly :)
