Hello everyone.

Hello everyone. Apologies for the belated submission. Here is my week 2 assignment. It's a class activity for young teenagers, which is -again - connected with advertising somehow. By now I know my weak spot is sequencing activities. And this one has been particularly tricky in that respect. Any comments and suggestions on that and other aspects are welcome. And, it would be great to see how it actually works out in class: I will be using it 1:1.

  1. Laura, your lesson is so well organized and so nicely developed, I'm sure your learners will enjoy it. At some stage when I'm teaching a class of that level, I'll request permission from you to use it in class.

  7. Laura Ferroglio Well, I think I haven´t used the right word... I´m trying to say that I love Paddington so much that it´s kinda obvious I would love your lesson. ;-)

  8. Hi Laura,

Thanks for sharing your materials. Once again they look very professional and the topic is one that will be motivating for all ages.

Very clear instructons – I love the step-by-step details.
Instruction 1 is black. The others are blue. A small thing but I’m trying hard to find things to comment on.

I love that you use ‘Discover’ aand ‘Understand’ as headings. I think using headings is a great way to make sure you sequence activities well and include a focus on all kinds of different aspects and skills.

Task 4. Check spelling of video’.

Great to come back to a fun speaking task with the post its after the language work.

I think the sequencing is just right in these materials so you’ve obviously given it a lot of thought. The only change I’d make is to add soem White spaces between the end of one activity and the start of another. A minor detail but I think it would make the materials more readable. Well done!

  10. Katherine Bilsborough Thank you for both your comments Katherine. It's good to discover that I can write materials competently in a reasonably short time. Sometimes though, when during the school year I am busy with different types of lessons, it's really hard to get creative because my brain gets tired, I get easily confused and there is no space for creativity and focus. I am sure this happens to everybody. I was wondering, have you got a personal strategy to overcome those "can't think straight" moments?
