Hi everyone.

Hi everyone. This is my week 2 assignment. This is for an intermediate level English for Science class. The lesson was related to an article about Cape Town and how it may be the first major city to run out of water ("Day Zero"). Day Zero was supposed to have happened two months ago, but since the original lesson, they have postponed it to next year. So, I have had to update some of the materials for this particular lesson.

  1. Hi Suzanne,
Thanks for sharing these materials. They're great. I’ve posted some comments on the Google doc.

  2. I love this! Such a broad range of tasks which makes for an engaging lesson. It also speaks to different (dare I say) learner styles (I just heard hissing) so everyone has some kind of strength they can bring to their group.

  3. Thanks for sharing - very nice real world topic and a great lead-in to prepare the students for the infographic. Wondering if it could be extended with a reading on solutions - made me think of an article I came across last year, Design thinking for Social Innovation by Brown and Wyatt, in the Stanford Social Innovation Review (Winter 2010), which has a section on water. Could be useful.
