  2. Rehmat Ebrahim I can see your assignment which means you uploaded correctly. I'm a little confused about why you shared the twitter information about impersonation account as it doesn't seem to connect with your assignment.

  3. Hi Rehmat! Thanks for sharing your materials. I’m adding some comments here.

I think what you have shared is a lesson plan with instructions for teachers – correct me if I’m wrong. It might be interesting to see materials as your students would see them. So, for example, it might start with something like this:

    Work in pairs.

    1. How easy or difficult is it to teach someone to do something? Share your ideas.
    2. Order the pictures. Then write an instriction for each picture.

In the second part, you have instructions for students. The gapfill activity is base don a text about fake accounts. I’m assuming this is your ‘short text’. It’s a very motivating text and of interest to your tudnets because these days anyone can be a victim of a fake account.

I think you could tighten the instructions a bit. I suggest:

    Add a heading.
Number the tasks as you might see tasks numbered in a course book. E.g.
    1. Read the text. (maybe add a general Q here? Something like. Where might you see a text like this?)
    2. Complete the text with the words and phrases in the box.

Your activity c is a nice task that will help students develop all sorts of reading and writing skills. However, I find the task quite difficult and think there might be more than one answer possible. If that’s the case, it might be better to split the text with more obvious divisions. E.g. cut after ‘history’ and start again with ‘This will …’.
That way students will be able to use the discourse markers as a guide to reconstruct the text.

I’d make it clear that this (c) is a new focus (even though it follows on from the previous task) – maybe you could just give it a heading (How to spot …) and then add the instrucions.

Great to end with a writing task.

  4. Barbara Hoskins Sakamoto Barbara Hoskins Sakamoto The twitter information was taken from a local newspaper. I shared it to show the source I used to develop the lesson/materials.

  5. Katherine Bilsborough Thanks for the feedback, Katherine. It's going to help me tremendously in redoing the lesson. I found the text in a newspaper last week and selected it as the source. Therefore, I have uploaded it and then gone on to develop it. I will surely refer to all the suggestions you have provided as I move on to growing in the field of creating ELT Materials.
