A debate about whether it is more important to invest in physical infrastructure or people in order to develop a country. Based on a textbook unit on economics and quotes from the founder of the UAE, Sheikh Zayed.
(An attempt to bring the topic of economics to the Emirati context, where human resource development and materialism are hot topics)

Hi Charlotte,
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing your materials. I wasn’t able to comment in Google so I’m adding some thoughts here.
Thanks for the background information to help me understand the materials.
First of all, I love how you’ve thought of your students’ context and managed to bring together the task (a short text), the Emirati context, a quote from someone well-respected from their own culture and a topic that is ‘topical’(!)
Two very clearly defined tasks with no risk of misunderstanding and a good sequence. I can’t fault it!
