Hi, here is my week 4 assignment: a colleague recommended Kahoot some time ago, but I never found the time to sit down and learn how to use it...well until now! It's a B2 game for older teens (16+) where players reorder sentences containing discourse markers. As it's been the first time I've used Kahoot, please let me know if it works and if any settings need changing (e.g. time limit).

+ Laura thank you for sharing the material. I like it. Learners will be happy to do the puzzle. Have also wanted to try Kahoot, but never had time to get round to it :) Will do this in the summer.
ReplyDeleteLaura Ferroglio I've never used it before. How do I get to play it? When I try to play, it says "waiting for other students to join"....and then nothing happens. Thanks for your help.
ReplyDeleteI'm delighted that you've found the time to play around with Kahoot and create this game. I imagine you felt a sense of achievement when you'd completed it. I would have. I haven't played it yet but it looks great! (I'll come back and play with another player).
ReplyDeleteAshley Dresser That's funny, I tried to play following the link and I had the same problem as yours. Try copying the game pin, opening the Kahoot website on another tab and play typing the game pin. Admit that is not the most time-saving way to do it. Let me know if it works.
ReplyDeleteI like Kahoot!
ReplyDeleteStudents are involved, motivated and engaged in a "healthy" competitive way!
Laura Ferroglio Hi Laura. Thanks, I did get it to work that way. Is it primarily designed for cell phones? Because when I used your work around, it gave me one tab with the game but it wouldn't allow me to click the answers. The answers were on another tab. It seems like they are supposed to answer with their phones but read the question on the screen or something. Anyway, I will keep playing with it.
ReplyDeleteI used it by entering the code which I brought up on my laptop into my mobile phone. I previously thought you had to have at least two players so it's good to know. I'll be using this particular Kahoot game as an alternative to the multiple choice questions version. Thanks for sharing.
