  1. Hi Marianna, nice to have met you as a groupmate on rhe course.
I find this material useful for discussion as a part of changing beauty concept at different CEFR levels.
I will use the idea of your material with my 8th graders at the beginning of the school year in September to tune them in. Teens enjoy discussing topics like this.
    Thank you Marianna.

  2. Hi Marianna, I like the activity. I think a cool follow up could be to have students bring an image they think has been "airbrushed" and explain why they think so.

  3. Carmen Medina Yes, Carmen! Searching and identifying edited/modified/airbrushed images would be a very engaging activity!

  4. Great choice of topic, it reminded me of Dove's Beauty sketches video which could be a nice extension to your tasks.

  6. Hello marianna casoria; the choice of the topic is pertinent and motivating for the students. It will certainly have an eye-opener effect.

  7. marianna casoria I do to :) That's exactly what I thought about. There is a story of Cantelle Broun - Young, a fashion model with vitiligo, on YouTube. Believe this story fits here as well :)

  8. Hi Marianna, I wasn’t able to edit the document so I’m adding some comments here. First of all, I agree with some of the other commenters – great topic! It’s motivating.

Do you notice an error in the heading?

I like the text – did you write it yourself?
You could add an instruction t oread the text . It’s obvious to you and me but I think an instruction needs to be included. Maybe something like: Read the text. What is it about?

I like the sequence of tasks but be careful with different formatting. Usually we are adbvised not to use any examples of upper case (capitals). Also, you mention ‘Aimee’ in the instructions but the name doesn’t appear anywhere else – so maybe it’s better to say ‘the woman’.
