Two principles I would pay much attention to when developing teaching materials are adequate cultural and cognitive loads. I elected these two principles because they are the two main sources of problems in my context in which authenticity is most likely than not equated to native(-like) use of English as this is deemed "good" use of English. However, the materials abiding by these standards of "good use of English" are not always appropriate to be used in our classes.
