Hi everyone!

Hi everyone!

This is my assignment for week 1. Since most of us like to share funny posts with mistakes we find in various texts on social media, I used sings with vocabulary mistakes to create a lesson that focuses on easily confused words and spelling errors as well as their correction.

I hope you enjoy it and look forward to your feedback!

  1. Well done, Myrto! Your purpose is achieved in a really clever way. The students will be highly motivated with the specific pictures-signs. They like learning in a fun and challening way.
Keep up the good work, writer of our hearts! ; )

  2. Such an engaging activity. Students will enjoy finding the mistakes, correcting them as well as share these funny signs on the social media just as I did now.

  4. A really nice and funny activity to have the students focus on some of the mistakes they make themselves too.

  5. Hi Myrto, I wasn’t able to edit the document so I’m adding some comments here. My first impression is that the materials look very professional, clean and clear.

The signs are very funny. Where did you find them? Do you know about the MULL page on Facebook? (Mapping the Urban Linguistic Landscape). Teachers share funny signs that they see everywhere. Check it out if you’re on FB.

Great sequencing and I love the error correction exercise (2) – we always learn so much from analysing errors. I like that the last task allows for some creativity too. I can think of lots of clases that I have taught where these materials would have worked a dream.

  8. What a neat and engaging material! I think it's a great way of making learners aware of their own writing. Thanks for sharing!
