https://myenglishimages.com is the source I used for authentic materials for young learners.
The ELT material is aimed for young learners A2 level. The vocabulary is mainly A1 and some words are A2 level CEFR.
The pre-reading activity will be speaking about jobs and introducing a member of the family.
Before students read the text I almost always ask the students to look at the photo and tell me what they see, what they think about the man on the photo....

Thanks for sharing your materials for week 2. I’d never heard of myenglishimages.com. I’m sure other course participants will be interested in checking it out. Thanks for that.
ReplyDeleteHere are some comments.
Lovely text and image. Where is the text from? Did you write it or is it from the same website as the image?
Ex 1. It’s quite useful to add a question after ‘Read the text’ – to focus students’ attention and give them a reason to read.
Ex 2 is a nice sorting activity for types of words.
Ex 3 I’d change ‘What about his friends?’ to something more specific.
Ex 4. Nice matching activity – word building is useful. I’d remove the capital letters. You’d also need to explain that there is more than one correct answer in some cases.
I like the colourful worksheets – they’re attractive. But they wouldn’t be appropriate for some students who need a clearer, cleaner layout and design.
The text is from the website. I created the exercises. The website has some great materials for young learners.
ReplyDeleteI removed the capital letters but when I uploaded it here I saw they are still on ahhahaahh....
THANK YOU for the very useful comments!
Thank you for the link to myenglishimages.com. I going to contact him.
ReplyDeleteWelcome!
ReplyDeleteHow nice it is to see materials for YL! Have you realized it says name with double a? I'll check the website, I didn't know it! Thanks for sharing! Is it easy for your kids to realize which part of speech each word is? I don't think mine can sort words in that way. I love the bubbles. However, I'd write NOUNS and VERBS in each bubble to make it visually clear. Very nice! 😍
