Where would you like to see yourself 12 months from now, in terms of being a materials writer?

Where would you like to see yourself 12 months from now, in terms of being a materials writer?

After having writen a few books under very strict rules, parameters, conditions, etc. I'd like to publish a book that no publishing company would take on! All the things that are out of the question, politics, religion, language that no coursebook would ever include, etc. I imagine it would be self-published, sales 2 (my best friend and my mother!). Still, that's what I've been thinking for the last two years! :)

  1. Maybe some of us in this group would by it too - that would be +10 at least!

  2. You would probably enjoy looking at '52' by Lindsay Clanfield and Luke Meddings. They felt much the same way: the-round.com - 52 | The Round

  3. Anastasia, you're reading my thoughts :) That's one of the projects which I have been thinking about for some time. These topics are constantly ignored in ELT books or at least skewed. Strangly, one of the most popular photocopiable books in Poland is "Taboos and Issues". Teachers use it with adults and they love it.

If you are serious about this book and would consider using a publishing company, please contact me :) My wife and I run a small publishing company, Polonsky, and we are keen on unorthodox projects.

  7. That sounds so freeing. Do it. Because these are the things people really do discuss! Check out the series "Taboos and Issues". I think you'll get a kick out of it.
